The Heritage Customs studio from the Netherlands calls itself a carchitecture studio, as it focuses on aesthetics, offering customers to individualize their cars according to different tastes. Such is the latest example of their work – the Heritage Customs Vintage Moon Dust, a restomod based on the classic Defender 90 V8.
The specimen is called Moon Dust after the body paint chosen for the project with a special matte metallic sheen.
The company has put on Defender grille, headlight bezels and ventilation grilles made of milled aluminum, custom front bumper in black, custom running boards, fully LED headlights, wide steel wheels (16 inches) with BF Goodrich tires, and redesigned glazing.
We’ll note that the last Defender had several different “eights” under the hood in history. But now we are speaking about the 1984 model year, which means that we have a petrol engine Rover V8 3.5 (136 hp, 253 Nm), and the “mechanics” assists it in this sample. However, the technical part of the SUV was left without changes, but worked on the appearance and interior. The rear “deck” of solid smoked oak is especially notable.
The interior of Defender used quilted alcantara and black leather, stressing that it is “not automobile.
Vintage Moon Dust has already gone to the customer, who paid 79,500 euros for such tuning. An interesting point: the owner of this Defender asked to deliberately leave some of the damage on the body of the original as a memory of past trips. Generally, Heritage Customs specializes namely on Defenders and redesigns both classic ones, which get the name Vintage, and modern ones, which are called Valiance. They also get unusual body painting and interior trim. A particular order can take a month and a half to complete, which is pretty fast.
