Supercars are very powerful and expensive cars, which, more often than not, go against all the canons of practicality. They are low, cramped, sometimes uncomfortable, but very, very fast. Modern supercars are becoming more driver-friendly, but on the whole, they are still rarely designed to carry more than two people and one or two small sports bags. Production of supercars specializes such famous companies as Ferrari, Lamborghini, Bugatti. Audi and Mercedes’s companies have supercars in their model range. There are even more exotic examples, such as Zonda, Spyker, and others. And today we will talk about the tuning of sports cars. Let’s jump in!

Sportscar Tuning

Tuning involves getting the best performance from the car, whether it is a production or expensive supercar, folk craftsmen are trying to make the car faster, more distinctive, and different from all the other “neighbors on the wheels.”

As you know many girls are very addicted to beautiful cars, loud music inside the cabin, many people like hyped cars, cars being fully tuned will certainly acquire the attention of not only the female sex and all people, a bassy roar of the exhaust system and dodger, guarantees the attention of others. But the most important thing, in this case, do not go overboard and tune your own hands or hands of craftsmen wisely, no need to throw a bunch of plastic and put huge pipes on the squishy engine, looks childish, more important is a charged motor, and then everything else, the diameter of the – “exhaust hood” power will not add and the spoiler above the roof, too. Many people forget about another very important detail – the tires, different types can have a different effect on the dynamic characteristics of your iron horse. Quality parts and car servicing are of great importance for car tuning.

10 Tips for Tuning Sports Cars

1) Sport tuning is the most common type of tuning among domestic car enthusiasts. Sports tuning can be divided into two types: external tuning and internal (technical) tuning.

External sports tuning includes some details and accessories that significantly change the exterior of the car: installation of dodgers, sports muffler, interior tuning, body aerography, underbody illumination, cast or forged wheels, and low-profile tires. As internal sports tuning it is possible to carry replacement of the details influencing technical characteristics of the car: tuning of the engine, tuning of the gearbox, tuning of a suspension, and tuning of a brake system.

2) Tuning is the external tuning of the car. Minimal dodger – a spoiler on the trunk lid and replacement of the radiator grille. The complete body kit is the replacement of bumpers, installation of side sills and wheel arch extenders, installation of air intakes on the hood, and fabrication of gills on wings, or replacement for ready-made tuning products.

3) The car’s applicable and lighting effects: highlighting the bottom and cabin (neon or LED), replacement factory optics on the alternative (the front and rear lights), the installation of fog lights, the use of xenon, and LEDs.

4) Sport muffler is attractive because of the sound it makes when the car accelerates. Sport mufflers are called straight-through mufflers, they come in one-pipe and two-pipe. To change the sound of the exhaust system also use nozzles installed on the factory muffler, which allows you to avoid replacing it. Often, along with the muffler tuning and the entire exhaust line, changing it to straight-through (which already refers to the technical tuning). Such modernization in addition to changing the sound of the exhaust contributes to an increase in engine power.

5) Tuning of the interior includes replacement of the factory seats for sports, replacement of the steering wheel – a tuning steering wheel of a smaller size is installed. A hydro or electric power steering can be installed separately, allowing you to significantly reduce the effort you need to apply when turning. The carpets are replaced in the cabin, the pedals are installed, the knob on the gearshift lever and handbrake is changed.

6) Also when creating a sporty appearance, airbrush is used: drawings, for example, longitudinal strips like on racing cars, images of flames, animals of prey, and others are put on the surface of the car.

7) When tuning the engine uses special motor kits to increase the working volume, modify the cylinder head, install sport camshafts, and change the elements of the intake system. This is done to increase the engine power and reduce the acceleration time of the car.

8) Transmission tuning improves car dynamics. When tuning the gearbox, the rocker arm is replaced by a short-stroke one to reduce the time spent on gear shifting. It replaces the mainframe and installs a sporty range of gearboxes (so-called the set, consisting of a primary shaft and a set of gears of a secondary shaft), thus changing the gear ratio of speeds. If there is a lack of maximum speed, you can add a sixth gear.

9) Suspension tuning is one of the most important aspects of technical tuning, which is responsible for the stability of the car at high speeds when passing difficult sections and turns. Suspension tuning involves replacing the factory springs, shock absorbers, strut supports, levers, stabilizers, and other elements with sport analogs.

10) To modernize the braking system, the car is equipped with rear disc brakes, regular front brake discs are replaced with analogs of a larger radius with perforated and notched, multi-piston brake calipers, and a sports vacuum brake booster is installed.

Bottom Line

To attract the attention of others to your car, and to make it different from others, you need to work on its appearance. And in this article, I hope you have learned some useful tips for tuning sports cars. So now you know how to properly tune your car. Have a nice day!
